2014 Tour de Yonkers
This is the first year our team supported the Annual Tour de Yonkers organized by the Yonkers Bike Club! The event attracts over 100 riders and is becoming a favorite ride for many area cyclists. Riders can choose from 12, 25 and 40 mile routes through one of NY’s most beautiful cities. The Tour route follows the Hudson River north for several miles, passes some of the city’s historic old carpet mills as well as newly developed downtown areas, including the recently day-lighted Nepperhan River. The longer routes wind through east and northeast Yonkers, along the Bronx River Park, passing Sarah Lawrence College and other parks including sections of the South County Putnam Rail-Trail, an old rail line connecting NYC with Putnam County that is now a paved bike path.
Make sure you check it out next year!
