New Year, New Happenings, Same YBC

The clock has turned to 2016 and things are buzzing along here at Yonkers Brewing Co. We ushered in the new year with a NYE Masquerade Ball and kept the party going with a bottomless football brunch on the first. The drinks were flowing and a good time was had by all, a great way to cap off 2015 and start 2016 off right.

January is an exciting month for us because we are celebrating our birthday! We are throwing our First Anniversary Bash on Saturday, January 16, which will also feature the release of our birthday beer, First Anniversary Porter. This imperial porter was brewed with bourbon barrel-aged Crown Maple Syrup and cold brew coffee from P Pascal Coffee Roasters. After having a taste from the fermenter last week, it’s coming along really nicely.

The Anniversary Bash will be going on all day and the first 500 people through the door will  receive a limited edition anniversary coozie. We will also be selling a limited amount of First Anniversary Porter in crowlers, with pricing TBA. It should be a great day to celebrate how far we have come as a brewery, but also to celebrate both loyal patrons who have been there from the beginning and new ones that are just hopping on the hype train now. As we grow in notoriety and continue to be adventurous with our beer, the brewery will evolve but our philosophy will remain the same. We will still make approachable beer styles and be not only a spot for the community to gather, also a brewery that is respected by craft beer novices and connoisseurs alike. We could not ask for more.

Other exciting news: As some may have noticed, we have started the process of re-branding a bit with our new seal. We will also be giving our bottles/6 packs of Vienna Lager some fresh artwork, as well as releasing Yonkers IPA in bottles for the first time. Both should be hitting the shelves within the next month or so.

GingerRed Rooi Update: Some of you may be wondering where GingerRed Rooi was around the holidays, and rightfully so. Our Red Cream Ale brewed with fresh ginger and authentic South African rooibos needed a little bit more time to ferment than anticipated, and therefore could not be released during the Christmas/New Years time period. However, it is now ready to be kegged and it came out great! Since we had spring weather during Christmas this year, maybe GingerRed Rooi will put you back in the true holiday spirit now that true winter is upon us.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates and announcements. Catch you on the flip side!
