The Weekend That Was
This past weekend was a pretty exciting one here at Yonkers Brewing Co.
Saturday we had a packed house for our Mardi Gras celebration. Hurricanes were flowing, beads and masks were worn and jambalaya, po’boys and hush puppies were consumed. While all that was going on, Anthony Gach & Harmonic Aggression absolutely KILLED IT on stage. They came in from 2:30pm until about 7pm and played a variety of different music, but the horns gave it a NOLA feel throughout. It was a crazy, busy, fun day.
We turned around the next day and put on some specials for Super Bowl 50. We offered half price wings from 3pm-close and upped our sauce game with three new variations: bourbon maple, sriracha honey and spicy garlic. We also designated half of the beers as Panthers and the other as Broncos; whichever team was in the lead, those six beers were discounted. First Anniversary Porter was on the Broncos side of the beer list, so needless to say people enjoyed $5 anni porters all night. While it was not as slammed as it was for Mardi Gras, we had a great crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy the wings.
We are going to try to keep the good times rolling this month! Tonight is the fouth edition of our Bottle Share, which will be followed up our special Valentines Day menu on the 14th and the second installment of our pairing program, Beer & Chocolate, on Wednesday, the 24th. We round out February with a live performance by Stella Blues Band on the 25th.
Hopefully we will see you guys at one or more of these events. Until then!
