Bottle Share #5 and Upcoming events
We had our fifth bottle share last night here at Yonkers Brewing Co. and, I must say, it was probably the best yet. While we open the share to anyone who wants to participate, there has been a core group of people that tend to come by, which has made it a lot of fun. Everyone tries to come through with really great beer…and they succeed. Here were just some of the tasty brews we tried last night:
- Exit 15 Coffee IPA- Flying Fish Brewing (NJ)
- Melange 8- The Bruery (CA)
- Granola Brown Ale- Black Hog Brewing (CT)
- The Abyss ’12- Deschutes Brewing (OR)
- 5th Anniversary Raspberry Chocolate Stout- Westbrook Brewing (SC)
- Dubbel Ale- Transmitter Brewing (NY)
- Barrel-Aged Troegenator- Troegs Brewing (PA)
We had a few other good ones, plus a couple home brews, but those were certainly the highlights. Each month, people are stepping up there game and bringing in interesting, rare or aged brews. When I started the bottle share program at YBC, this is exactly what I had in mind: a fun night of drinking great beer and making new friends. I’m looking especially forward to the next one, Tuesday April 12, which is my birthday (the theme will be Belgian-style beer, if you are curious).
Last night was fun, but the fun doesn’t stop there this month. Although we had our St. Patrick’s Day Party last Saturday, we will still be serving up Irish cuisine on St. Paddy’s Day proper, March 17. Then, on the 26, you can join us for Blackout Brunch and eat, drink & dance your butt off all afternoon (at that point, are we a brewery or the club? You decide).
We wrap up the month with the third installment of our beer pairing series, featuring six of our handcrafted brews and six different smoked meats provided by Yonkers Miasarina.
Thanks for reading! Hope to see you guys out at a couple of these events!
