My Summer at YBC Day 16
It is finally starting to feel like summer. The temperature isn’t too hot like it was the past few weeks, and I’m starting to get into my groove at the brewery. I start everyday by coming in and setting up my computer and getting the early work done. Today I started by just redeeming some Group-on codes and checking my emails. I usually have some things that I have to add to the calendar for the upcoming events that we have. Then I got some emails from Jackie asking if I could update some of the information in our information packets. All of this was only about the first hour of the day, so I had a lot of time to work on the outreach program that Nick and I are coming up with. I spent most of the day getting phone numbers and emails so that I can reach out to various businesses and groups to set up some events for them.
After a few hours of this, I got some food from our kitchen. I had Joe’s Panini which is always delicious. I can honestly say that I have not had a single bad meal since I started working here. The kitchen staff really know what they are doing. One thing that I am not used to is working while eating, which I am used to now, but on the ranch we would just sit down with guests and eat, and then when we started cleaning up, we started working again. That being said, I like working the whole day, it helps me to get rid of my procrastination habits that I occasionally have at school (but ho doesn’t at school, right?). Then after lunch, I went with Jackie on a quick walk to pick up her car, and helped her load some beers into her car just before she left. Overall, today was a very productive day with lots of Game of Thrones talks to break some of the office silence. I’m looking forward to see what comes my way the rest of the week.
I have been rather tired recently because we got a puppy in my house last week and she doesn’t like to let me sleep much, so it’s like being back at college with the lack of sleep, and large amounts of coffee keeping me going. Her name is Dillie and she is a cutie. I’m going to have to bring her to the brewery one day, otherwise I don’t think Jackie will let me come back.
